Our Story
“An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.”
In the beginning, as God would have it, we were strangers—both foreign to the country and foreign to our conditions. In the midst of the challenges of our new lives we found each other in the beginning of 2020, and quickly became very good friends, bonding over our love for Christ and our shared values and desire to serve Him. Even more than friends, we soon were like a family, as we would help each other out, get together to celebrate any occasion, and have fun together.
Our affection for each other was always genuine and destined for the long run. I was marveled by Val’s fire for God, her sincere and active compassion for her neighbors, and her zeal for hospitality and service. Her charismatic and lively presence, her charm, wit, and jokes—just her beautiful soul—quickly got me attached. Even then I promised myself that I would do anything for her and would always be there for her.
As my friend she was the best, and I was delighted to even be just her friend as long as it meant being present in her life. There could not have been a love story to tell if it wasn’t for that faithful summer day of August 2022 when, after spending the day enjoying each other’s company, I realized that everything I had prayed for in a wife I could find right in front of me, and decided to ask her out.
What began as a meeting has become a promise—one we choose every day.
